Variations of the Three-Field FInite Element Method
Tipo de evento: Exame de Qualificação
We explore variations of the three-field finite finite element methods introduced in [7]. A first contribution, we briefly describe new theoretical and computational contributions to the method introduced in my masters dissertation. We present a family of compatible finite element spaces, implementation of the method covering high-order polynomial interpolations, and numerical tests that display the convergence rates predicted from numerical analysis. These contribution integrate the submitted article entitled "a three-field multiscale method" [1]. We then summarize a proposal for a stabilized method, which is currently being finalized. The "stabilized three-field formulation" consists of adding stabilization terms [2] to the formulation. As a result, we obtain stability for all combinations of polynomial degrees. This work includes the numerical analysis and computational results. finally, we are interested in extending the three-field formulation to the brinkman problem [3]. We want to develop a stabilized [4] (and subsequently multiscale [5]) method applied to the brinkman model. the initial task is to derive a variational formulation with lagrange multipliers and stabilization terms to obtain the desired properties: static condensation of all local degrees of freedom, stability, and consistency. The normal component of the stress vector and the tangential component of the velocity field are candidates for lagrange multipliers, as done in the bhtn method [6]. Also, we plan to develop numerical analysis and computational results.Para assistir acesse: meet.google.com/fwx-urpb-hhb
