Conference
Since 2009 China and Brazil lauched a joint program to stimulate the growth of cooperation between the two countries in area of mathematical and computational modeling as well as scientific computing. There were two very successful conferences in 2009 and 2011. The First Brazil-China Conference on Scientific Computing - BCSciComp2009 was held at Laboratório Nacional de Computação Científica - LNCC, Petrópolis, Brazil and the Second China-Brazil Conference on Scientific Computing - BCSciComp2011 was held at Institute of Applied Physics and Computational Mathematics - IAPCM, in Beijing, China. Both conferences brought together 30 invited speakers (15 for each country) and many other participants from more important research groups in area of Scientific Computing in both countries, who presented their research results and projects in various fields of sciences and applications.
The Third Brazil-China Conference on Scientific Computing - BCSciComp2013 is organized by COPPE/Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro - UFRJ/Brazil, Laboratório Nacional de Computação Científica - LNCC/Brazil and Institute of Applied Physics and Computational Mathematics - IAPCM/China and will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, July 1-5, 2013. This third conference will also be one of events celebrating the Golden Jubilee of COPPE that marks 50 years of activities in research and graduate student's teaching.
This third conference will have the same organization as formers consisting of single sessions where all participants are present facilitating the interaction between all of them. This organization allows us to maximize the chances of cooperation and greatly facilitates the exchange between ideas of computational modeling developed in different areas of knowledge with other possible applications.
