Minisymposium on Multiscale Modeling
(August 12, 2004 - LNCC)
A minisymposium on Multiscale
Modeling took place during the 1st
LNCC Meeting on Computational
Modelling, with several aspects of numerical multiscale modeling
were investigated. The speakers were, in order of appearance, Giancarlo
Sangalli, Pavel Bochev, Rodolfo Araya, and Lutz Tobiska.
Not only the talks were *very* interesting in my humble opinion, but
we had time for several iluminating discussions during the week. The
schedule of the talks, the slides and further information follow below.
Schedule:
- Giancarlo Sangalli -
IMATI/CNR-Istituto di Matematica Applicata e Tecnologie
Informatiche, Italy
- Robust a-posteriori analysis of the
advection-diffusion-reaction problems (talk)
- Pavel Bochev - Sandia National
Laboratories, USA
- Transient problems with multiple time scales and
their finite element solution
(talk)
- Rodolfo Araya - Universidad de
Concepción, Chile<>
- <>A hierarchical a posteriori error estimate for an
advection-diffusion-reaction problem <>
- <>Lutz Tobiska -
Otto-von-Guericke Universitaet Magdeburg, Germany
- Optimal error estimates of the SDFEM on layer
adapted meshes (talk, references)
